Deploying an On-Premise Agent

The following steps will guide you through the steps to setup an On-Premise Agent.

Basic Installation

  1. On the Agents Screen, click the ‘+’ button in the bottom right to add a new agent.

  2. Select the appropriate tab (Windows, Mac/OSX, Linux) for the operating system your computer is using.

  3. Click the ‘Download’ button to download the Agent Installer application.

  4. Run the application and follow the prompts, if prompted by Windows to specify the communication networks that the Agent will be allowed to use ensure that both Private and Public check boxes are checked and select the ‘Allow Access’ button.

  5. When pompted to enter your organization’s URL, enter your tenant name and select the ‘Continue’ button.

    Note:
    If your Naveego site is https://casey.naveego.com, your tenant name is casey.

  6. Enter your login credentials and click the ‘Login’ button.

    Note:
    The login credentials are the same as the credentials used to login to the Naveego Platform.

  7. Once logged into the application, select the ‘Install New Agent’ button, change the name of your agent (if desired), and select the ‘Install Windows Service’ button.

  8. Setup the windows service for the Agent by performing option a or option b.
    a. To run the agent service in a specific user context, input the username and password of the account on the machine the agent service should run under and then click the ‘Install’ button.
    b. To run the agent service in the contect of the currently logged on user click the ‘Install as Current User’ button.

    Note:
    The account that the windows service runs under need to have permission to create, edit, and delete files, folder, and sub-folders inside C:\Program Files\Naveego\Agent.

  9. Return to the Agents Screen and validate that your new Agent is created and in a ‘Conencted’ status.

    Note:
    You may need to refresh your browser (Crtl + F5) for your new Agent to appear.

Advanced Installation

  1. On the Agents Screen, click the ‘+’ button in the bottom right to add a new agent.

  2. Select the appropriate tab (Windows, Mac/OSX, Linux) for the operating system your computer is using.

  3. Enter a display name in the text box and then click ‘Create [OS] Agent

  4. On the Agents Screen, click the ‘Download latest version’ button, for your newly created Agent and place the navagent.exe file in a folder by itself.

  5. Select the ‘Copy’ button next ot the generated key on the Agents Screen.

  6. Open a command prompt and navigate to the location where you placed your navagent.exe file, paste the copied key into the command prompt window and press the Enter key.

  7. Return to the Agents Screen and validate that your new Agent is in a ‘Conencted’ status.

    Note:
    You may need to refresh your browser (Crtl + F5) for your new Agent status to update.
